In February this year Sandra traveled to Paris to present the prototypes she made for Louis Vuitton (LVMH). She was asked a few months before by this world label to design a number of prototype sculptures consisting of residual materials (leathers | haberdashery |ropes…) to support the ideas about a better world and waste disposal. The theme within which the designs had to comply: ‘alien|monster’. The prototypes went for a review to Paris. An eventual worldwide shop window in which finalized sculptures would be given a prominent place as a display for the Louis Vuitton (leathers) was one of the possibilities. The prototypes | sculptures stayed at the LV storage in Paris and will not be further elaborated.

Sandra (smiling): “I’m very honored and proud to have been invited and challenged by Louis Vuitton to deliver prototypes | designs for their beautiful label.”

“…it was a great challenge to build something from the residual material supplied. It’s difficult to tie something of rope|leather without any reel! (Sandra laughing)…fusing small short pieces into (2,25 meter) large objects was sometimes quite a struggle. But, the combination of own (waste) materials and residual leather resulted in surprising combinations for me…”
