Z K U M M: An artist duo exploring the parallels between personal and wider experience. A collaboration between Sandra de Groot [interdisciplinary artist and photographer | atelier c h a o s] and Oscar Venema [modern painter and cross media artist].

Both in life and many of their works, they frequently team up to have a duel, in content and context. They are always looking to find the thrill in what is called ART. 

They like to work instinctively: two unorthodox minds, juxtaposed. Sampling ‘powerful’, disparate elements that make up their singular visual language. Embracing the present state of paining and photography as an [in]effective mode of communication: illusive, unruly and complex. Their works allow the viewer to read reality through their own veil of unconscious subjectivity. 

Z K U M M is into assemblage, collage, photography, photomontage, paining and drawing. They combine and work across a variety of media often includes cutouts and cross layering of found materials or footage. 

Exploring different boundaries. It is goal to trigger - and sandpaper - the mind.
